Lafayette Regional Website: A New Look

Through feedback from the Lafayette community, we created a new look.  Don't worry, everything you need is still right at your fingertips!

Are you looking for classroom websites? Check out Academics.  Are you interested in the programs available to your children? Check out Student Life. Need to find the lunch menu for the month? Check out Parents. These are just some examples of what you will find on our website.

Our website is a work in progress so please be patient as we continually add more information.

Summer Reading

Picture
Summer is a great time to relax, have fun, enjoy family, and READ!  Some children loose a substantial amount of ground during the summer break.  As a parent you have the power to ensure that your child starts the school year in the fall on solid ground.

The benefits of reading with your child are plentiful: reinforcing basic skills, improving fluency, providing an opportunity for encouragement, increasing language skills and vocabulary through conversation.  When reading with your child remember EVERYTHING COUNTS:

  • Reading to them

  • Having them read to you

  • Taking turns reading

  • Retelling stories

  • Having discussions about the stories and about the ideas that arise from them

Below is the link to some resources that have recommended summer reading lists, information about books, authors, and so much more!

Where Will You Read This Summer?

Take a photo of yourself reading anywhere in the world this summer and send it to Mrs. Koehler at skoehler@lafayetteregional.org            (It will appear on the website!)
