                            KIDS SAY THE DARNEDEST THINGS…..

When asked why he couldn’t come in from recess, one student simply stated his walking and running feet had stopped working so he had to stay outside…….!

PRINCIPAL’S ADVISORY COUNCIL ON NECAP TESTING…

Parents of 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade parents – Would you like to understand what those NECAP test scores mean for your child? Come to School, Monday, 2/20/12 at 5:30 pm in the library for a brief and informative discussion of the NECAP tests, the results at Lafayette, and how they compare to the rest of the State.  Lafayette students scored very well this year, and while this is only one of many measures of a student’s education, it is important to see what we can learn from these State tests and why we take them each year.

                            SB2 PUBLIC HEARINGS….

The Board of Education of the Lafayette School District is holding public hearings next week in Franconia (Monday in the Lafayette library), Sugar Hill (Wednesday at Town Hall), and Easton (Wednesday at Town Hall) at 4:00pm each day. These meetings are to discuss the following questions which will be on the Annual School District Warrant by Petition:

                            1)    Shall we adopt the provision of RSA 40:13 (known as SB2) to allow official ballot voting on all issues before the Lafayette School District on the second Tuesday of March?

                            2)    If the Lafayette School District adopts the provision of RSA 40:13, shall we adopt the provisions of RSA 40:15 to allow voting at additional polling places for the second session of the annual meeting?

SPECIAL THANKS TO KINDERARTENERS AND PARENTS…..

Kindergarten Puzzle Mania was a huge hit.  The kindergarten class put together 1,426 puzzle pieces in an hour on Thursday morning. They had the help of  Mrs. Burnell, Mrs Vanzandt, Mrs Demarsio, Mrs Koeler and Mrs Coyle.  The class did not complete the puzzle of the world within that hour but two parents stayed while we went to recess to complete it for us. We only counted the pieces put together within the hour in our tally. So MUCH fun!
